By Campbell SpenceWhat is your vision for the City of Port Phillip? Should our rates be higher than other Councils? Are you getting value for money for your rates? Why don’t we have green waste and food waste bins and free parking permits when other Councils provide these? The City of Port Phillip is seeking Expressions of Interest from the community to participate in workshops to help shape the Council Plan and 2022-23 Budget. In our experience these workshops are dominated by rent seekers and those with vested interests who want their pet projects funded. We want COPP spending to be efficient and reasonable when benchmarked to other Councils. COPP should only provide those services and infrastructure that most ratepayers and business owners require. We strongly encourage you to register your EOI because the silent majority will be ignored while you remain silent. Do not delay in registering as the deadline is 23 December.
