Specifically the East Alma Park devotees. I have been one for 27 years having bought an apartment opposite the park last century. It is evident that the finishing touches are being attended to by the various trades responsible for the toilet block rebuild – it was destroyed a few years ago by an arsonist. The temporary fencing will be imminently dismantled then locals and visitors alike will be able to enjoy the full benefits of the revamped park. The recent upgrade of the picnic area and children’s playground has improved the park amenity significantly. The replacement drinking/dog fountain is one of the many improvements. Additional picnic tables and seating together with the rubaroc resurfacing increase the capacity for lunches and children’s parties. The jewel in the crown, however, is the resurrection and interactive aspect of the swamp. The mechanical pump engages countless curious children. All of this on the back of the modern sports pavilion recently built to enhance the experience of the many sporting codes that utilise the oval. The park on both sides of the train line has never looked lusher following the complex water capture, storage and irrigation system installed in the mid 20 teens. I nearly forgot the outdoor gym! The CoPP should be congratulated for the focus and continued investment in Alma Park. Chapeau!
