Go to https://ropp.org.au/property-rates-calculator/ to compare your rates to our three neighbouring Councils. The chart below using an example of a $1.9m property shows that the City of Port Phillip's rates (as a percentage) remain persistently high in comparison to neighbouring Councils. This is despite the Residents of Port Phillip endorsed Councillors, Rhonda Clark and Christina Sirakoff working tirelessly to try to bring our rates and charges down to be more in line with our neighbours. There are obviously Councillors, Council Officers and other groups with a vested interest in maintaining the status quo.It is clear that the only way to bring about significant change is to elect independent Councillors who will put the needs of all of us ahead of party politics and those with a vested interest in maintaining the status quo.
